Prayer for the homeless

Loving God, it was not your plan that anyone should be without a place to call home, we pray for all people who are experiencing homelessness.

We pray for our politicians and decision-makers, and for those who are helping homeless people.

Open our eyes to the needs within our communities; give us wisdom to respond and courage to challenge the injustice of homelessness.

Amen

Background to Sharakat Drop in Café

The café has a core group of volunteers who help serve food and make the café a welcoming place where guests can feel safe and accepted no matter what their situation is. On average, the café serves meals for around 60 people every week.

The Sharakat project which is the “umbrella” of the café aims to serve the local community in a way that fosters well-being, includes the marginalised and encourages cross cultural and cross faith relationships. The Drop in Café is a key component in the practical outworking of these aims.

If you would like to volunteer or ask about food donations, please contact the church office. To find out how to make a donation click here
